Board of Trustees

Da Vinci Academy is an independent school, a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees.  Decision-making at the highest level resides with the Board.  The Board focuses particularly on planning and viability related issues, monitors the school's financial health, and its programs.

The Da Vinci Academy Board of Trustees meets monthly during the school year and periodically over the summer.  Board committees, whose membership includes non-trustees, meet on a regular basis.  Board membership is balanced between school parents, a faculty representative, and community professionals.  New trustees are usually researched, nominated, and voted upon for membership based on the Board's need for additional kinds of expertise (educational, legal, financial, marketing, etc.).

Strategic Plan

During the 2006-07 school year, the Board initiated a strategic planning process as part of Da Vinci's work toward ISACS accreditation.  Board members and representatives from the faculty, administration, and the parent community served on committees to draft statements regarding Da Vinci's future in the following areas: Program, Faculty & Staff. Marketing & Enrollment, Facilities, Technology, Community, and Finance.  Each group met several times to discuss the issues related to their specific area, and in the end each group drafted a statement clarifying the school's Goal, Rationale, and Implementation Steps in that area.

The collective efforts of each committee resulted in an overall strategic plan for the school.  Please click here to see what was accomplished.
