<< BackDa Vinci receives full ISACS accreditation
On January 28th, Da Vinci Academy was awarded full accreditation by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), joining a community of the top independent schools in the Midwest. ISACS accreditation also earns Da Vinci full membership in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
The accreditation announcement coincides with Da Vinci Academy’s celebration of its tenth school year. The school, located in Elgin on Hopps Road just west of Randall Road, was founded in 2000 and now serves 130 intellectually gifted and talented students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. The school also offers Saturday classes and a summer camp open to the public.
Da Vinci had been a provisional member of ISACS and NAIS while completing the multi-year process toward full accreditation. The process included developing a strategic plan, crafting a vision statement, writing an extensive self-study, and hosting a visiting team of ISACS teachers and administrators who observed how accurately the self-study described the school. Full ISACS accreditation reflects a commitment by Da Vinci Academy to live up to the highest standards for independent schools, and to pledge itself to a process of continuing improvement, subject to rigorous peer review.
