Annual Giving Campaign

Update 3/13/12: We exceeded our $80,000 campaign goal and set a new mark for family participation at 84%!  Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed.  Each gift supports our teachers and students.

Da Vinci Academy is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and receives no government funding.  Tuition covers approximately 90% of the cost of educating each Da Vinci student.  Almost all independent schools are funded this way and therefore rely on development revenue each year.

For 2011-12, there is a $1,600 per student gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Da Vinci education.  Most of the gap is filled through two primary development activities, the Annual Giving Campaign and the Annual Benefit Auction.  The AGC takes place from October through January, although gifts can be accepted any time during the year.  The AGC is budgeted to raise $80,000 with contributions from all the constituent groups connected to the school: the Board of Trustees, faculty & staff, current families, grandparents and other family/friends, alumni families.  Gifts can also be enhanced through corporate matching programs.

For the last several years, family participation in the AGC has increased each year.  In 2010-11, we reached a new all-time high of 77%.  Our goal for 2011-12 is to reach and exceed 80% family participation.  We understand that each family's ability to give is different, but we ask that each family support the campaign as generously as possible by making Da Vinci Academy one of their top charitable giving priorities.  Contributions in 2010-11 ranged from $20 to $10,000 with an average family gift of $693.

High participation in the AGC is a vital part of the Da Vinci Academy community.  The support of our families and other constituents preserves the high-quality educational program for our extraordinary students.  Additionally, meeting the AGC goal has helped the school maintain its lowest tuition increases in school history during the challenging economic conditions of the last three years.

How to Make Your AGC Contribution

• Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted.  Please make checks payable to Da Vinci Academy, or contact the business office to make a credit card payment.
• We accept pledges so that gifts can be paid in installments (cash, check, or credit card)
• Ask grandparents, family, or other important people in your child's life to support their education by making a donation
• Gifts are tax deductible, and donors will receive an acknowledgement letter that can serve as a tax receipt
• Ask your employer about corporate matching programs to increase the impact of your gift
