The Latin School Math Contest Results
Da Vinci takes 5th place at the Latin School 'find
the Mean in 2013' annual math contest on January 26,
2013
8th grade team of Joe Bartusek,
Noah Helm, Noah Hood and Sammy Zeng did great on the team round
(all points), but their individual performance was not as strong,
so overall they came in 5th place. First place was Science
& Arts Academy, Avery Coonley took 2nd and 4th and Quest was
3rd. There were sixteen 8th grade teams represented.

Victory for Da Vinci Academy at MathCounts® on December 1,
2012
Da Vinci Academy practically
swept the Junior High Math Contest at St. Francis High School on
December 1, 2012!
Sammy Zeng & Joe Bartusek tied
for first place 8th grade individual with perfect scores
of 20. Seventh grade awarded only 1st and
2nd places, but if they had given a 3rd place
award it would have gone to Noah Hood.
We had two teams; Joe Bartusek,
Noah Helm, Mylene Ferrer, Ben Simon and Owen Michuda and they tied
for first place, but we earned 2nd (tie-breaker
rules). Our other team of Sammy Zeng, Noah Hood, Max Martin
and Brett King didn't place but they were 6th out of
16.
There are overall school awards
that are a combination of the best team score and the best 4
individual scores and guess what? First Place: DA VINCI
ACADEMY!
