Da Vinci Academy, founded in
2000, currently serves 113 gifted and talented students in PreK
through 8th grade. Students come from across the Fox Valley Region
in communities such as St. Charles, Geneva, Elgin, South
Elgin, Bartlett, and Hoffman Estates.
Maximum class size is 14 in the PreK classroom, which
includes half-day PK3 combined with full-day PK4. Both PreK and
Kindergarten also have full-time assistants. Classes in
Kindergarten through 8th grade have a maximum of 18 students.
Grades PK-5 has one lead grade level teacher, while MIddle School
(grades 6-8) have one teacher for each core subject. There
are individual subject teachers for Spanish, Art, Music &
Performing Arts, Computer & Technology, and Physical
90% of Da Vinci Academy grade level teachers hold Master's degrees
or other graduate level education and training. Teachers are
also active in professional development pursuits such as graduate
work, college teaching, gifted summer programs, conferences and

The 2013-14 school year began August 21st and ends
May 29th. We use an academic trimester system and have days
off throughout the year for teacher in-service as well as
parent-teacher conferences. We observe
major holidays with an additional Winter Break in December and a
Spring Break the last week of March. Breaks
generally coincide with those of local public school
districts and other local independent schools.

1st - 4th Grade: 8:45 AM - 3:10 PM
5th - 8th Grade: 8:30 AM - 3:10 PM
We offer before and after
care everyday with drop-off beginning at 7:00 AM and pick-up ending
at 6:00 PM.
We are pleased to offer various athletics
(Volleyball, Basketball, Floor Hockey), PK & K Beginner Chess,
Competitive Chess, Robotics, Band,
Counts, Music and Theatre Club (MAT) and a variety of
after-school classes. The school's Summer Camp
and enrichments programs are open to the public.
